01The setup
A Disneyland trip doesn't have to drain your bank account. The biggest expenses are tickets, food, and parking, and there are ways to reduce all three. Start with tickets: buy multi-day tickets since the per-day cost drops (a 3-day ticket can be 40% cheaper per day than a single-day). Check for SoCal resident discounts, military discounts, and authorized resellers like Undercover Tourist or Get Away Today for modest savings.

Food is where most families overspend. Quick-service meals run $12-18 per person, sit-down restaurants average $25-45, and snacks add up. Save by eating a big breakfast before arriving, bringing sealed snacks and water bottles (allowed per Disney policy), and using mobile order for counter-service meals instead of table service. The best value meals in the park: Bengal Barbecue skewers in Disneyland and the Cozy Cone Motel items at DCA. For dinner, consider leaving the park to eat at nearby restaurants on Harbor Boulevard where prices are lower.
02Going deeper
Parking at the Mickey & Friends or Pixar Pals structure costs $40 per day (with in-and-out privileges). Save by parking at one of the off-site lots on Harbor Boulevard ($15-25 with shuttle service) or taking the ART shuttle from nearby hotels. If you're staying at a Good Neighbor hotel, many include shuttle service. Skip the premium souvenirs inside the park. The same merchandise is often available at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney or on shopDisney.com. Small savings across the day add up: bringing your own ponchos instead of buying Disney rain gear, refilling water bottles at drinking fountains, and splitting large portion meals between kids.
Tip Sealed snacks and water bottles are allowed per Disney policy. Bring them from your hotel to avoid $5+ park snack prices.
